Yoga

I am not very flexible - would I be able to do Yoga?

Most definately! 3/4 of our classes cater for the beginner to yoga. These are designed for you and are structured to assist you to move through the yoga class levels at your own pace starting with the more basic postures to more advanced poses as you gain flexibility.

Do I need to bring my own mat?

If you have a favourite mat that you would prefer to use please feel free to bring it along with you, however it is not a necessity as we have plenty here. Otherwise we supply all the equipment and props rewuired for each class.

Is there anything I need to do before my first class?

We will ask you to fill out a registration form prior to your first Yoga Class. You can either print a registration form off our website and bring it along with you or you can allow yourself 5 - 10 minutes to fill one out upon arrival to your first class and settle into your spot in the yoga studio.

How do I know which class is right for me?

We run several levels of yoga classes ranging from beginner/foundation level for the totally new participant and those eager to learn more, to a more advanced Level 1 for those that have greater than 6 months yoga experience. Completion of the foundation classes allow our instructors to fully identify the strengths and limitations of all yoga participants and to enhance the delivery of a safe and effective yoga program. It is then up to the discretion of both the participant and the instructor to guide the participant either towards to the next level or remain and progress as able.

Personal Training

 

What do I need to wear and bring to my personal training session?

Please wear clothing that won't restrict your movement or get caught on any equipment, ensure you are well supported and comfortable from head to toe. A sweat towel and water bottle are also necessary.

Should I still attend my appointment if I have an injury?

Contact your personal trainer as soon as you can to discuss your options. If you have a minor injury we can focus your workout on other areas of the body, in more serious cases we can refer you to a physiotherapist for further diagnosis and treatment.

Can I train with a friend or a family member?

Absolutely! Simply let us know that you would like to bring someone else along to the training session with you and we will organise it as a special price for your group.

Can i train with a group of people?

Of course, here at Verve we have something to suit everyone. If it's group training you prefer we offer 3 different styles of a small group personal training, Happy Hour, Hard & Fast and Urban challenge. What times are available for personal training?

We are open 5:30am - 8:00pm during the week and 7:30am - 1:30pm on Saturday. Call and talk to one of our service tem members to organise a time that suits your lifestyle.

Can I choose between a male and a female personal trainer?

You sure can! We have 2 male personal trainers and 3 female personal trainers to choose from to ensure you are comfortable throughout your workout.

What can a personal trainer do for me?

Are you frustrated with your current body shape? Do you need motivation? Want to be challenged? Want to improve your general vitality and wellbeing? We can help you with all of these! We pride ourselves on taking a whole rounded approach to health and wellbeing. This is achieved by integrating nutritional information and physical fitness sessions that are unique and effective. Our aim is to help you determine and achieve your goals with lifestyle improvements.

How many training sessions should I attend a week?

This decision will be based on goals and budget needs after meeting with your trainer.

What kind of training and qualifications set you apart from other Personal Trainers?

All of our personal trainers have qualifications frm the CHEK institute - a Californian company that is one of the most highle regarded health and fitness education organisations in the world. All new personal trainers to Verve for Life are part of our mentor program, regardless of how much experience thay have in the industry. our Mentor program is led by our senior personal trainer, Nathan who has been personal training since 2004 and is a physiotherapist, CHEK practitioner Level 2 and Holistic Lifestyle Coach Level 2. This mentor program is a way to monitor client progress, educate trainers and maintain standards, ensuring that you are getting the most value out of your personal training.

Massage Therapy   

Can I have a variety of different massage styles in the same treatment?

Of course you can! Just let your therapist know at the beginning of your consultation how you are feeling and what you would like to get out of yout treatment, that way your therapist can discuss your options with you and together come up with a great combination of therapies to make you feel great.

Can I choose a male or a female therapist?

Definitely, we have 3 therapists to choose from, Sebastian, Kellie and Colleen to ensure you remain comfortable and relaxed during your treatment.

How long do massage treatments go for?

A regular massage treatment would last for 1 hour, however for those of you who feel they need a little bit more love and care we do have a 90 minute treatment available. For those of you with time constraints or have only one area that needs treatment perhaps a shorter consultation of 30 minutes would be best suited to you.

What styles of massage are available and does the cost vary? 

We offer a great variety of massage therapies ranging from the more traditional types such as relaxation and remedial massage or for those after something a little different we offer chinese, hot stone or indian head massage. Other therapies include sports, trigger point, pregnancy, shiatsu and lymphoedemia massage. You can choose from either of these massage therapies or a combination and the price will remain the same for the time period allocated.

 Physiotherapy

 

What is physiotherapy?

It's a therapeutic modality designed to aid in the recovery of injury and illness. This may include massage to the affected soft tissues, mobilisations/movement of the underlying joints and skeletal structures, dry needling techniques, exercises for both strengthening and improving core control, stretches aimed at improving flexibilty and education on postural awareness.

Physiotherapy also consists of taping, bracing, casting and splinting. 

Do I need a referral?

Not normally, however, if your treatment is for a Workers Compensation or Third Party Injury, you will need a referral from your doctor. In any other circumstance, we do not require a formal referral from your GP.

What should I wear and bring to my appointment?

Please wear loose comfortable clothing that won't restrict movement that allows the therapist to properly assess and treat your injury. Please bring along any relevant scans or x-rays you have.

Do you have HICAPS and are you registered with private health funds?

Yes. Simply bring along your health fund card and all you will pay is the difference.

I have as appointment with a physiotherapist, what should I expect?

We run a strictly hands on approach incorporating exercise that is both functional and specific which means NO MACHINES, NO GADGETS and a strong self-disciplined approach to long term recovery. You can expect your therapist to provide prompt and effective treatment of soft tissue injuries which is followed up with eduation about injury management whether it is on the sporting field, at work or simply in everyday life.

How long does the treatment/assessment go for?

Inital Consultation will take 45 minutes - 1 hour and your Follow Up Consultation will take 30 minutes.

Should I still attend my appointment if I am sick?

Here at Verve For Life we pride ourselves on health and vitality so we would prefer you to reschedule your appointment if you are unwell. Our great service staff are here to help you in any way possible, so please don't hesitate to talk to us.

Will my consultation be one-on-one?

Absolutely - the therapists at Verve take pride in giving their clients their total attention for the entiretly of the appointment.

When is the best time to start?

Injurys treated as soon as possible have a far greater chance of quick improvement, so the sooner the better.

Where are you located?

Verve For Life is located at 310 Hillsborough Road, Warners Bay, NSW, 2282.

What are your opening hours and days?

We are open Monday - Thursday 5:30am - 8:00pm, Friday 5:30am - 7pm, Saturday 7:30am - 1:30pm .

Do you have Gift Vouchers?

Yes, our Gift Vouchers can be made up to any amount and can be used for Yoga, Personal Training, Massage Therapy or Physiotherapy. 

Can I come in and have a look around?

Of course, drop in at any time and we will be more than happy to show you around our studio and have a chat to you about the different services we offer you.

Do I have to sign a long term contract at Verve For Life to participate in the classes or sessions?

You don't have to sign any contracts here at Verve For Life to be a part of it! You are more than welcome to come along to any of the small group personal training sessions or the yoga classes as a casual visit.
